Animal Farm

The animals of Manor Farm have finally broken free from human rule. United by the promise of equality, they begin building a new society founded on a shared set of commandments and the belief that all animals should benefit from their own labour.

Yet, freedom brings new challenges. As the animals try to organize work, share resources, and follow their new rules, questions about leadership, fairness, and interpretation start to appear. Small disagreements grow as the reality of running a society sets in.

This crisis committee follows the early stages of Animal Farm and asks delegates to see how things unfold. Will the animals be able to maintain this communist society, or will their new system fall apart under pressure?

McMaster sits on the traditional territory shared between the Haudenosaunee confederacy and the Anishinabe nations, which was acknowledged in the Dish with One Spoon wampum belt. That wampum uses the symbolism of a dish to represent the territory, and one spoon to represent that the people are to share the resources of the land and only take what they need.
