Katarina is delighted to be serving as a Co-President and Secretary General of MACMUN for the 2022/2023 year. She is in her final year of Honours Social Psychology, specializing in Law, Justice, Crime, and Deviance. Kat has worked as a staff and Secretariat member for MACMUN in the past and is excited to close our her time at McMaster with one more year of Model UN. When she is not planning debates Kat is trying out new recipes on her friends, planning her next trip, or meeting with the amazing Secretariat members to plan this year's conference. She is excited by the opportunity to bring the MACMUN community back together and cannot wait to meet new members of the McMaster community looking to get involved in MUN and show them the debate, diplomacy, and community Mac has to offer.

Mariyam is in her fourth year of Life Sciences. In her role as Co-Secretary-General, she oversees all club and conference activities alongside Katarina. She plans MACMUN events throughout the year, coordinates with other McMaster clubs and works with the Secretariat to organize the conference. Mariyam has worked with MACMUN as Committee Chair, as well as Junior Executive, USG of Delegate Affairs, and USG Committees. Outside of MACMUN, Mariyam volunteers with children and the elderly. You can find her at home tending to her ungrateful plants, and at HSL wearing 3 layers because it’s freezing. To Mariyam, expanding your world means broadening your perspectives and challenging your own ideas. MACMUN encourages this through meaningful discourse where students can begin to understand other perspectives.

Hiya believes that to "Expand your World", one must embrace being a part of the generation of change and broaden their experiences. By proudly fostering a global community of sustainability, innovation, and collective growth, Hiya believes we can make great strides in our pursuit for a better world.
