Red Scare

You’ve been invited to America’s first-ever, fully televised live investigation of America’s greatest political threats, presented in Washington D.C. by your host, Senator Joseph McCarthy. Join us as we dive deep into the life and scandal of (alleged) communists, to protect our national security.

The Red Scare culminated in a series of televised trials and investigations carried out across 36 days as McCarthy came to a crash. Join us in a fictionalized iteration of that very room, where nobody is safe, and everybody has a secret.

In the height of American fear, paranoia runs rampant in the streets, and in the courtroom. The honorable Senator Joseph McCarthy has gathered a group of the most promising (or most suspicious) public figures in the nation to investigate the looming threat of communism in post-war America.

Inspired by the games ‘Mafia’ and ‘Clue’, no one can be trusted in McCarthy’s televised courtroom. America is watching, and YOU are a direct threat.

Lies will be told, fingers will be pointed, and secrets will be spilled. Your career hinges on your ability to push the blame on those around you. Do you have what it takes to keep your name clean?

America’s last suspected communists have been called to undergo investigation, the nation has been invited to watch it unfold live, and the stakes are higher than ever. Join us in McCarthy’s courtroom, where 36 days of live trial occurred in 1953, and where MacMUN delegates will embody the secrets, fears, and unfortunate truths of those in the American public eye.

McMaster sits on the traditional territory shared between the Haudenosaunee confederacy and the Anishinabe nations, which was acknowledged in the Dish with One Spoon wampum belt. That wampum uses the symbolism of a dish to represent the territory, and one spoon to represent that the people are to share the resources of the land and only take what they need.
